Slowly making progress on a few more minis... Cadian Shock Troops... These two are pretty much ready for basing... This one is ready for shades... These four Blood Angel Space Marines I bought a while back, already constructed. I may use one of them for a step by step if I can get myself organised!

And they continue to appear. What are you using for your metallic colors, BH?

And they continue to appear. What are you using for your metallic colors, BH? These are pretty much all painted with Citadel Paints. Generally they have a base colour, followed by a shade, then layer and highlight colours. I also use Vallejo Model Color, Game Color and Metallics range. The shade washes are the things that make these all work so well. That all said, I’ve been reading up on doing non-metallic metals (NMM), I just need to knuckle down and try it, but I’m not that brave, yet. For your average scale modeller, I’m an okay figure painter, some of the guys/gals in the figure painting circles are unreal, but a lot of them have been painting for years and have an artistic grounding, something I’ve never had and not helped by being colourblind and unable to identify colours. I sort of paint by numbers, once I’ve established a base colour, I can generally find the shades and highlight colours, but a lot of this is from watching videos and reading books on the subject!

I’ve been having a fiddle with the camera recently and playing around with the background & lighting. So I retook the latest minis, with a white background, although this shows up as grey. I think the setup works better than the previous...?!

If you ask me they good and your moving forwards . Maybe the wash on the yellow is tad too dark and looks a bit like a staining , but that's all I would comment on .
