Decided to take a break from painting, to give my eyes a chance, so I cleaned up and assembled the next 5.... this took me a total of nearly 7 hours work, at this rate I’ll never get an army finished!  After a bit of thought, I am toying with the idea of building an army to enter into Games Workshop’s Armies on Parade competition, that is held in store at the end of October/beginning of November, so I’ve got a year to get it done... Anywhere from 25 to a lot! A typical small army...  A medium army...  And the mother load...  Ranging from a few hundred quid to thousands... the large mech titans can cost £1500 each! |

So I’ve shot the next batch with black primer then followed this up with a graduated “Terracotta”, keeping it light coverage at the bottom and working up to the top.... the aim is to try and get some variation in the lighting very much like a pre-shade...  Over the Terracotta I’ve sprayed a couple of light thinned coats of Blood Angels Orange, to give it the trademark look... I’m not sure if the photos really show the gradient, but it has turned out how I wanted...    I’m unlikely to get any more done today, so these will be left to cure, at least, overnight. |
