I’ve had a bit of time at the bench and managed an initial wash for the Orange, then went back over the panels with the Orange to tidy up the wash coverage. After that I started to add the detail colours. Next I’ll work on the shading for the detail areas, then I’ll start to work on highlights.

I’ve been jumping from task to task today and filling in with what ever I can get done... I’ve added the Squad Markings to the right knee cap (white skull on black, denoting 1st squad, within the company). These were done freehand as I don’t have enough decals to do them and they are proving more difficult to get hold of than I thought they would be! I’ve added the Chapter markings (Blood Angels blood drop with wings) to the left shoulder and the company marking (yellow drop, denoting 2nd company) to the right shoulder pad. This gives this tactical squad the classification of Blood Angels Chapter, 2nd Company, 1st Squad Tactical Marines. I added a bit of textured paint as ground cover and whilst this was drying I made a start on the first bike.... Being gaming models they are pretty crude and simple construction, I suppose with the aim that they can be quickly assembled and painted to get them into the game ASAP.

Quick update on the bike... Late last night I managed to get the black primer on, followed by some Alclad metallics on the engine and exhaust. Once dried, early this morning, I coated the metallics with a masking fluid... Once dry, I shot a coat of Terracotta over it, grading up from the ground so that the top panels had the most coverage... Finally a couple of light coats of Blood Angels Orange, again making sure coverage was concentrated on the upper panels... Once dry I’ll start to fill in the other base colours.
