I was sorting out my fishing gear in my shed couple of weeks ago and in my old bird seed was 5 of the false widow spider flipping horrible things

Yep---we get these here in NC when it gets warm. Always fun when you accidentally run into their web out in the woods. And then we have our Black Widows and Brown Recluses----always good for a trip to the Emergency Room. |

Been a bit lapse on this this past week............my Father-in-law hit his head on a large branch in his garden and knocked himself out (he`s 85).........he ended up in hospital with a suspected bleed on the brain which was quite worrying, he was in for a week in the assesment unit to be monitered and the second CT scan revealed heavy bruising to the brain..........he`s now back home thankfully but he`s got to be checked on everday, it could take between 3-6months for it to heal and in the meantime he`s not allowed to do anything but rest............thats all very well but he`s a proud man and doesn`t want the fuss.........he was laying a bloody patio in his garden only 2 weeks ago!!! He has also got to use a zimmer frame because his balance is very iffy...........that`s fun convincing a man thats always been fully independant to change his lifestyle overnight! The thing is he lives on his own (luckily only 5 mins round the corner from me) so we have to hope he doesn`t take another nose-dive when we`re not there. Anyhoo.......once things calm down a bit i`m hoping to get back to doing some bit`s and pieces again  |

Well, that surely stinks. Sounds like He's making progress,which is a good thing. Hopefully He'll have a speedy and event free recovery. As and when,fella.As and when.

My Father in law was just the same did not know when he was getting too old for things, when Teresa said to him about getting a Zimmer frame he replied "how embarrassing" she said "not as embarrassing as picking you up off the floor all the time"
