Added the bottom colour: first some thin layers with a rattle can (Tamiya TS-33 Dull Red) and then worked on the details plus added some variation with an AB (Tamiya XF-9 Hull Red). Some sources claim that those two colours are the same, but in reality TS-33 is much brighter. I think I managed to get a good base colour before the weathering actions...
I will place two of the planes into the hangar and therefore I had to clip the wings. Let's see how that is going to work...
Started to work on the crane parts which is a nice PE project (although nothing close Guy's U-boot !). I got a bit lazy and left out the lower parts in order to get the crane more stable.
Finally, being the impatient one, I did some dry fitting with the superstructure.

One an orsomness-scale to 10 this is defo a 10 Kari. The photo with the matchstick says enough. The superstructure looks just brilliant with all those bling glued onto it.

I think it's quite clear you are much faster at this job than I ever was . Great work Karih! I think we two could start our own group "The Turtles" !
But actually, you were pretty quick with your fabolous Zero-build... Well, we all seem to have our own challengies.

Yeah, the Zero was quite fast - but then again, it's a Tamiya kit...Mmm, that would mean Yamato should be quick too...flawed logic lol. The Turtles sounds good though

karih / wouter . You can both take as long as you like, with any build. After all, what you two produce is top notch quality

Fun Fact---One main gun turret on the Yamato or Musashi weighed as much as one Fletcher Class destroyer. 😂

Fun Fact---One main gun turret on the Yamato or Musashi weighed as much as one Fletcher Class destroyer. 😂 Yeah, the scale of that ship was totally insane. I do not know how do you even cast a 600 mm steel plate... . And when they fired the main guns, nobody could be on the deck because the pressure wave from the blast would rip their clothes off and knock them unconscious.

Nice schematics. On Youtube there is a 3D animated film which explains how the main gun turret and it's gun operate. It's in Japanese, but still cool to see how that works.
The blasts of the main guns could even kill you btw. They did extensive tests with animals in the vicinity of the guns test firing. Didn't turn out well for the poor critters.
