Cheers chaps for your kind words. I've now sorted out a base idea and figure for the build. As usual I'll use an Ikea picture frame and a really smashing reality in scale middle eastern shop front. The idea is the bulldog is on overwatch so the building makes for an excellent backdrop. I've also started sorting bits for the base and will use Dick's method for rubbish bags and have a few piled up at the end of the building with plenty of rubbish scattered about. The figure is from the master box modern UK infantrymen set with a replacement head. He fits the gun station pretty well I think. So all that's left is to decide if the base should be a tarmac road or dirt road.

Excellent plan matey - yer can't have too much rubbish in dios like these very easy to do and looks fantastic - my votes for the dirt track rather than tarmac

Cheers chaps, yes I was thinking a dirt road too so that's sorted. I think I'll even use the smart mud but suitably smoothed as it has a really nice texture which would work well for that.

This looks really exceptional. Can't wait to see the completed work with this base. Really nicely done, thus far.

Sounds good Pete . Maybe a little sand mixed in where the road is to create a little roughness ?

Gotta agree that the primer does look darned close to the real colour Pete .
