1/35 tracks are too expensive for me, especially if you don't get value for money.
Very nice detailisation too MrB

Chaps I really appreciate you kind words . After spending all morning and part the afternoon at the allotment, I needed to get to the bench . So I decided to add some more detail painting to the beast, before I move in with the gloss . I picked the highest parts with Revell enamel 45, Light Olive. I also added the leather cupola cushioning using Vallejo Hull Red. I then decided, after a week of discussing with myself , the camouflage to break up the barrel lineage . Oh yes, I also slapped some dirt on the lower hull sides, but there will more of that to come yet

Thank you muchly Guy . This camo was heavily discussed inside regimental units and above regimental units. Nobody could prove that it helped, or didn't help disguise the Firefly tank

Thank you muchly Guy . This camo was heavily discussed inside regimental units and above regimental units. Nobody could prove that it helped, or didn't help disguise the Firefly tank I think it really worked. When I was looking at the photo I was asking myself why the hell you cut off half of your barrel!😂

Cheers muchly Bert . There are portions of some kind of cushioning around the inside of the cupola , it's to stop the commanders from busting his head while moving around I'm just not sure what colour they are supposed to be ? Form pictures I can see something dark brown or maybe dark green.

Nice paint work, first time I see that leather on the innerside of the cupola ring 🧐 British tank crews rather stupidly didn’t wear helmets in those days! The iconic gun barrel is great Paul.

Amazing work, Paul! The stowage looks spot on and love that "short barrel" dazzle, too!

Tommy, Ian, cheers muchly muckers . Tommy that is partly true about the helmets . Tank crews had the choice between the helmet and beret up 1985, it was when the Challenger 1 was issued, that we were ordered to ditch the cool looking headphones/mike sets and wear the stupid looking helmet Okay then, the vehicle and commander have been glossed, are are undergoing various oil paint attacks . The vehicles "T" number, which is the only vehicle marking at the moment, is total fiction . I chopped up Dragon's decal into something which didn't exist . The base skin tone has also been applied to both heads, I haven't decide which one will be used yet . His pixie tank-suit has also a base treatment with oils The tracks received a burnishing with Schreiber Patina Schwarz, before being sprayed with two home-brew colour mixes. The outside of the track has sandy brown colour, the inner received a dark rusty colour. When had dried, which was bloody fast as it a tad hot here, I brushed on another home-brew wash and sprinkled European Earth pigment over them Finally, the M1919 .30cal had some attention also

.30 cal : my question to you Paul...is it Humbrol metal paint? Awesome result! Tracks : Would you sell the secret mixture of that homebrew? Commander's cupola hatches : didn't you forget to paint the leather? The figure looks splendid! The goggles' leather case wtf did you shrink a genuine one??? I like the mud you sprinkled on, looks pretty realistic!

Awesome work there,PB. If my opinion is of any use. I'd go with "Beret" Guy. The Helmet does look stupid.

I like the mud you sprinkled on, looks pretty realistic! Thank you kindly indeed Guy-bro . The .30 was painted with Vallejo Nato black (71.251), then a wash with Modellers World "Dark for Panzer Grey" was added. Once dry, I used a Karisma silver pencil to pick out the edges, and finally a buffing with a graphite powder, contaminated brush . As for the track mixture, well it's priceless . Mainly because I haven't got a clue of how much left over Tamiya paint, or which Tamiya paints are actually in there .
