Jeez that's good
Did you strip the chrome off them wheels or just prime on top of it?

I just rubbed them down with a sanding sponge 1000 grit until the shiny surface was flattened (not removed) and then primed.....i then gave a coat of Klear over the primer and then top coated mate, primer does not like the chrome as inbetween the bolt detail there was a tiny reaction but on a wheel thats deep dished you can`t see it...........once the Klear was on the top coat was absolutely fine, with the bigger stuff like the fuel tanks, exhaust stacks etc i will clean these back using the same method because there is a lot more smoother surface area which makes roughing up a lot easier...........any small chrome stuff is better stripped using Mr Muscle etc.

Yeah I'm going to strip my chrome off the bike bits and start from scratch

Yeah i would on small delicate stuff you find on bikes/cars etc..........better safe than sorry, when i did the Ford Falcon i just weathered straight over the top of the chrome but that didn`t require a showroom finish whereas your bike does

The chassis and running gear look brilliant Boots. Just the right amount to make it appear used but not abused.
I kept some of the chrome on my 1/12 Honda, just gently rubbed it with 6000 grit micromesh to take off the high gloss. Seems to work well

Been playing about with this the past couple of days.........going for a `left in the corner of the yard` look due to being superceded by newer vehicles to the fleet and no longer really used etc.... Lots of weathering still to do yet and i`ve gone for a typical 80`s colour scheme of a faded light blue..........looks a bit wierd at the mo but hopefully later stages will pull it altogether...also added and blended in the trailer hitch or 5th wheel as we call it over here..
Opted for a well worn interior with some old canvas seat covers and a skull gear shifter
More soon...
