I’ve had this kit for quite a while and thought it was about time I got started on it. I started the build several weeks ago, but progress was very slow, as there was neither the time or the inclination to build.... but that’s by the by, I’m now trying to get back to it. My interest in the Staghound dates to my grandfather who drove many types of vehicle and Armoured cars during 1936-1946, as part of the 11th Hussars, the Staghound being one, although I understand his troop preferred the Daimler Mk.II during the Normandy campaign and push on to Berlin. Anyways, being a bronco kit, there are an awful lot of parts, due to over engineering. The destructions are frustrating at times, due to the cluttered appearance and, more than occasional, missing part call outs. I managed to get one side done, before it found it’s way back to the shelf... Today, I had an hour so made a start on the other side. I’ve got to the point where I need to tackle the etch parts on this side, so have stopped until I have a period where I know I won’t be disturbed... More to come... hopefully fairly soon!

Rather partial to a staghound, built it in 48 scale, wouldn't say no to a bigger one. Keep it coming.

I’ve got the Tamiya/Italeri rebox version, which seems a much easier kit to build and the finished results seem to be now different from the examples I’ve seen... good place to start! Got the second side pretty much buttoned up... still frustratingly slow, thanks to the etch. My eyes and stumps of hands/fingers really aren’t suited to such small, intricate parts. Thankfully I managed this session without a Tourette’s outburst, which is darn good going on my part, considering! I’d like to say it’s been a clean build, but it’s had a few areas that I could have been more delicate! Nothin that a bit of paint and plenty of weathering won’t cover up.

You are definitely yer own worst critic Adrian - we're all well aware that Bronco ain't for the faint-hearted and there's many very good modelers that won't touch them with a barge pole for just that reason. I think you're doing great things here, the build looks clean to me and despite yer thinkin' yer'd made a fist of the etch work, I reckon it looks superb my friend!

After a few weeks doing the Tabletop stuff, I’ve come back to this build. Whilst at Telford, I had the opportunity to speak with several people that have built this kit and without fail they all said that getting the hull together was a bit of an issue, especially if you follow the instructions and put all the other parts onto the separate panels before final assembly... With this in mind, I decided to construct the hull now, before adding any more parts... I just hope it was the right decision and doesn’t come back to bite me in the proverbial!
