I was not aware that one was produced in 1/32. I don't build alot of the wingy things and I've never built a HK Model kit. How does it look?

I was not aware that one was produced in 1/32. I don't build alot of the wingy things and I've never built a HK Model kit. How does it look? It looks pretty good to me fella. There's about 300 parts, mostly in grey styrene, a small clear sprue and a small sheet of PE. HK seem to adopt the Tamiya route using a relatively small number of parts while still giving you a very good but not necessarily brilliant level of detail. A slightly different version of the Do335 is also available from Zoukei Mura in 1/32 scale but that promises to be a lot more complicated. HK are releasing four variants of this wingy, fighter bomber, destroyer (this one), two seat trainer and night fighter. I will be adding a little aftermarket to it, not much, just addressing a couple of obvious areas.

Mencebro, did this plane carry its bombs under its wings or in the belly ? It looks like a cool kit, and in 1/32 scale it will be an eyecatcher !

I believe originally designed as a heavy fighter, the fasest piston engined wingy of ww2 Nothing was carried under the wings, it has a small bomb bay which on this version is given over to an additional fuel cell for extra range.

This’ll be good, I’m tagging along too This was the first ‘plane to have an ejection seat as they were concerned that the pilot would hit the rear prop on bale out , trouble was the canopy was released by two handles... the first test pilot had his arms ripped off when he tried it. They found his body in the wreck still strapped to the seat less his arms, nasty!

Thanks. It certainly looks good.
I've got 5 plane kits in the stash that I've been making excuses to not build for about a decade. I probably should do something about that.
Anyway, looking forward to see this one build up. It's a nice looking plane.
