luvverly mate. This build is motivating. When I'm in the new house I think I'll take one of my shelf queens out (initial Tiger II) and try to revamp it. Thanks Mister Motivator ^^ Cheers

Guy, Boots, Wouts, cheers indeed chaps . Wouts, I'm glad to have been an influence . Today I started on the running gear. As I am using the Tamiya AM track set (single glueable links), I need to the wheelage in place so I can add the tracks and let them set. This has to stay removable so I can paint the whole lot later of the tank. The sprockets and idlers are attached with poly caps, but these a very tight in fitting. In order to slacken them off a tad, I reduced the axles diameter by sanding, after that they got a good coat of graphite to keep everything nice and slippy . The home made sanding stick, this lets me get into tricky areas and still have stability whilst sanding. Tamiyas running gear fits together grand with no offset between the wheels whatsoever. But they do have a seam running around the outside. The great thing about Tamiya wheels is, you can nearly always put a bolt through the middle and fix with a nut. This goes into a rotary tool and then you can sand them on a piece of wood with stapled down fine sand paper . 30 minutes later, 18 pairs of sanded road wheels . More soon chaps

Nice! Just curious, which type of tracks are you going to use? The prototypes used the first model of tracks which weren't single link. The Gg 24/800/300 tracks consisted out of multiple parts and a 18 teeth drive sprocket was used. There are some photos later in the war where you can see one of the prototypes with late model single link tracks for testing purposes.

Cheers Wouts, I'm the kit supplied 9 tooth sprocket with the two part link. I know it isn't quite correct but I haven't got anything else, also I know that Carl would have used these too .

Wouts, Ian, Boots, cheers mushtys . The Tiggy is down in the catacombs now, she has just been primered . But before I went to do that, I pimped the Tamiya tools a tad . Tamiya tool clamps aren't really that which you would call a clamp, so I added some handles to at least give the impression of a clasp . More tomorrow dudes. Hopefully the primer will be dry by the afternoon
