Just posted a "Simple Desert Diorama" over in the diorama threads; this has sandbags made from micropore and green stuff putty. Here's how I made them. You'll need some green stuff, 1.5cm micropore tape, a glass surface to work on, a cocktail stick and some paint. Start with a bit of green stuff and mix as usual (pull and knead, like blue tack). Once it's nice and green, tear off a bit about the size of a match head. Military sandbags are 14" x 26" each; that scales to 9mm by 16mm. 15mm tape is close enough for me Take a bit of tape about two centimetres long, and fold over the blob of green stuff. Shape with the cocktail stick. If you're adding as stowage, you'll want to shape the bags in place. Sand obviously settles at the lowest point, wherever gravity takes it, so bear that in mind. I ruined a few getting the hang of it, but I reckon these are pennies each (if that). I got about one "bag" per millimetre of putty - that's a lot of bags for your money. Paint once dry (around two to three hours). That's it. Have fun!
You can see what these look like painted and in place in the diorama thread.

Very welcome guys. I pinched this one from elsewhere (Youtube or another forum I think). I f I could remember where I'd give full credit. Anyway, a handy little idea. Cheers.
