Hi chaps, a couple of people wanted to know how I painted up logs, tool handles and other wooden plastic parts. Here's how I do this: This is the un-ditching beam from the Italeri T-55, in 1/72. The method I use is the same for all scales . The raw plastic part, certainly doesn't look much at the moment This I gave a quick length ways swipe with a razor saw. This adds a little texture. Next up primer, doesn't matter which type you use. After that a quick spray with matt black Next comes a light buffish colour, paint thin and broken lines. I use Vallejo 71.075 Sand (Ivory) or something similar Then, again using thin and broken lines, add a darker colour. I use Vallejo 71.032 Golden Brown. Once that is dry, I then go over the whole part with Mig Track Wash (any track wash will do) EDIT Have just renewed the Track Wash, the one I used above has gone off. It didn't level out as usual, but with the base paints being Acrylics from Vallejo, I could just wipe the old wash off with a dampened kitchen towel and re-apply a new wash which worked as should . Hope this is use to you all, thanks for watching
