Wouts, I would imagine a blue "clear coat" over the silver for the wheel bays and doors would work. It would need to be a very vibrant blue and maybe like a Sky Blue or Medium Blue in color. As for the Green and Gray colors, I attached a forum post where Nick Millman, the Osprey author and researcher, answers the question about the greens and greys for the scheme you are doing. Millman's response is about half way down on Page 1. www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235001499-a6m5-zero-colors/

Thanks for that mate, was a great read. Although it didn't make things easier for me

Thanks a lot Robbo, it sure raised my stresslevels but the fella sure looks ok. One wonders though if it was worth the effort since you don't see much of him afterwards

Glad you liked the metallic blue guys, sweet! Finally an update on the zero. Weather is starting to cool down so jolly good times whehey! Yesterday I already gave the A6M a coat of black Mr.Finishing Surfacer 1500 black. But it was still too hot and dry. So I had to take out the 2000 gritt sandpaper and sand it down, because the paint caused trouble through the airbrush. This night it started to cool down and we had a bit of rain, so time to have a second go at priming the bird. Worked a little bit better. After that I did some black basing on the underside using white. This paint still gave me some problems, it didn't come through the nozzle very well. Luckily this step doesn't need to be too tidy. Initially I wanted to paint this bird with paints I already had in the stash. But I have changed my mind and bought me some aditional Tammi paints. Thanks to Ian I guess lol. So, a coat of Tamiya XF-76 Gray Green (IJN). It's not like we tend to know our 'white' zeros, but since they were never white it's alright. I quite like the colour, though it's not easy to get it on camera. I've had to do some processing in Photoshop Elements but I think I have the colour as it is on photo now. The weather still isn't 100% to my liking so I had to paint it a bit more opaque than I planned for, but still, love how it looks. It sure makes the metallic blue pop a lot more And the upper rear side of the cockpit got a paint of - sort of - cockpit green. This time I used Nato Green with a tad of the very vibrant green I used for the cockpit. Let's see of the FB colour patrol knights will have their say about my 'incorrect colours' again . Luckily that kind of folk don't live in the Haven On to the Dark Green now ^^
