You should add enough clear gloss and thinner meister P. 👍 Oh yes, I shall probably use Tamiya paints for this, and a good drop of gloss is always an excellent additive to their XF paints. It stops them turning furry or rough when spraying That’s actually something I like about Tamiya paints, they give you that very subtle rough texture.

Cool to see how you build up the paint coats Paul. One question, did you add the decals onto a matt surface? Or were these rubbed on?

I find that a tad annoying Jase, specially as you don't often see furry tanks .

The vehicle reg. will be Archer Dry Rub numbers and letters, these I always add over a glossy surface. If something goes wrong with them, then it's easier to remove the transfer

I know, I've been a tad slack again . But the weather is just to good to stay indoors at the moment . Anyway, after very hard days work at the allotment with a BBQ and beer, I managed to get a little work done on the Sherman . I have started the dirty bottom, the part we all like . Vallejo pigment fixer and a mix of two pigments have been added, these are still drying despite the use of a hair dryer . I also started sort out and prepare some stowage, these parts are Tamiya, RB Model and a whole bag Red Zebras "Hanging Bags". The straps are Tamiya tape. The Formation Model tools have been primed and base coated with Tamiya XF-1 too . Last but not least, the cupola periscopes have been base coloured with silver, I used a silver paint pen for this. The scopes will get a black/smoke wash to tone them down later . More tomorrow when the sun has gone down or when I've burnt my ass sitting in the sun

Ian, Tommy, cheers muchly dudes . Continued and finished the dirty bottom, I wasn't happy with just the pigment so out came my mix of Tamiya dirty paint, sifted garden earth and static grass . Once that had dried, about 10mins outside in the sun , I added some AK fresh engine oil and fuel stains to the bottom. This is now good enough as nobody will see it anyway . I also primed and base painted the stowage this morning, with high temperature outside the primer was dry in 30mins . This afternoon I primed and painted the tracks, more to do on these yet. The running gear has also been added, might give the wheels a bit more dirt or spray them with something dusty . The tools have also gotten their base colours, will work on these later this evening .
