Thanks Boots my friend. Thank you Tommy, the metal paint went on well but after drying it kind of remains rubbery sticky. Once the alu colours are on this will be solved with Tamiya Gloss Clear. I experienced the same with my bare metal Mustang. These Vallejo metal colours are pretty fragile, for example rubbing with a cotton swab can cause damage to the surface, even when Tamiya Clear was put over it. I hope these setbacks won't occur this time.
Paul, I like a bare metal bird too, I went for the USAF version as it's colourful decals will stand out superbly. My wish however is to also build a Belgian one as well, with the camo.
The fuel tanks on their sticks look more colourful on the photo than in reality but I want a range of shades to add interest.

Guy do you use Flow Improver or, Flow Improver and thinner?
I found the rubbery effect was caused when only using FI, if use only a few drops of FI and then also use thinner, the paint is much more nornaml.

Thanks for sharing this Paul, I only used flow improver. I keep you informed on this. Even the airbrush pistol felt rubbery when I pulled out the needle to clean it so you might be right.

That is looking superduper mucker As for the Vallejo.....i`ve just moved over to these recently and i also just use the Vallejo thinner, not tried it with FI, so far i`ve had great results...but, yours is over a much larger area whereas i`ve only used them for small detail type parts

Today I added only one drop of flow improver + 5 drops of thinner + 3drops of paint and it doesn't feel tacky anymore. Thanks for sharing Boots! It's defo too much flow improver causing the stickyness.

The Gloss Clear goes on now and then it's decal time. Thank you Paul, I was planning on fiddling some more aluminiation effects but I'll fix that hopefully with the oils.

Thank you Tommy. Thank you Pete, I'm liking the Vallejo metal colours and as Paul said, it's best not to add a lot of Flow improver. I tested this and one drop of fi mixed with paint and five drops of thinner do the job perfectly and the model won't feel as tacky as before. My airbrush needle no longer kind of sticks when I clean it. Thanks Boots !
