Right the Mk IV is at that stage when I'm sitting around waiting for things to dry, so time to break out another kit. I've got the Mosquito bug now so I'm going straight in with the Mk VI Colour scheme was an easy choice for this one, not my photo just borrowed from the interweb The Mk IV is all cameras has no weapons so this one will be the opposite, guns, bombs and rockets, wahey

Thanks Tommy.
Bit of a dilemma with the underneath colour at the moment. I've been told to use Tamiya Sky for the bottom as in the photo but the kit shows it as light sky grey as on the box side. You can see the two colours above and they are very different, hm what to do

A gun nose rocket striker.....love it! Robbo, for these Coastal Command Skeeters it was generally believed they are Extra Dark Sea Grey over Sky Type S, which coincides with the color directives for the Coastal Command Beaufighters. The EDSG was also prone to fading due to their environment and operational pace. There may have been a few that slipped through with Medium Sea Gray undersides but Sky Type S was the go-to for Coastal Command.

Ian could be my advisor
So are we saying Sky would be better than light grey?

Robbo, I have not run across any pics, plates or references where grey undersides was called out for Coastal Command Beaufighters, Mossies Beauforts, etc. Their camo directive at the time was Extra Dark Sea Grey over Sky Type S. I did see a color pic of a Coastal Command Mossie where some internet commentators were claiming it was grey underneath. But it looked like washed out Sky, to me. (I could be wrong) And not sure if the photo was colorized later....hard to tell. I built a Coastal Command Beau and a Mossie and went with EDSG over Sky with both builds.

You are a star Ian
Got a fella who builds for a magazine and he said it should be sky and not grey. Wonder why the box art shows it as grey?

FOR ILLUSTRATIVE PURPOSES ONLY:
As an example----here's a Coastal Command Mossie and that looks like washed out Sky, to me. Way too light to be any form of Medium Sea Gray. And that gun nose stuck between two Merlins is sexy as hell..

Yup that's sky alright. Why did they have different colour cones on them propellers I think the different color prop spinners was just a squadron preference. You can see red, yellow, Medium Sea Gray....etc.

OK I've done the wingy bits with the wheel housings and the engine housings to kick this one off, I'll be going out later to get a photo

Right I'm off but nothing you haven't seen in the other build, had to drill the wings out for fitting the rockets otherwise it was the same
