Ok fellas...........been somewhat distracted this past coupla weeks but i`m still moving along with this, i`ve never weathered a Flak before so she`s a bit WIP at the mo, i`m not gonna go mad with the inside of the Flak as i reckon apart from handwheels/rangefinder/breech area and very lower floor she would probably have been quite reasonable.......maybe the odd wear mark! Here`s where she sits at the mo.........i`ve toned the shield down being as it would have been exposed to the elements from the sun etc,the gun itself was painted the same as the body work and i used a mix of W&N Naples Yellow and W&N Titanium White oils and started to dry brush the highests points.........difficult to see in the pics, i`ve left the remaining lower workings in their dark colour.
I`m keeping a similar theme with the lorry itself, i want the top area to be slightly more bleached than the sides so i`m using the same oil combo on the upper part of the arches/cab roof/ bonnet etc......again it`s hard to see in the light (one of the LED tubes has blown in my work lamp and i don`t have the correct lighting )....
I will go lighter still on the extreme high points and again i`m not going to go mad with the weathering....i did dry brush over the side grills and i`m quite happy with those.
Got a ways to go yet with the oils as i`m only building them up slowly so they dry quick.........more a case of staining them sort of thang!!

That's perfect Boots, the washes and the subtle old school drybrushings do the trick, the shield looks sublime.
