Thanks Paul, I am leaning towards the silvery version with those red lightnings.. is the same as on some of the Mirages ... Only nasty thing about this kit (sofar.. ) is the way parts are connected to the sprues.. ANd I messed up the harnass decals, so had to make some myself, they are to thick but not to bad for a first time.. but look at that dashboard.. I sure like this kit/brand sofar..

Lovely progress Bert . I did the Silver Spitfire 6 years ago, mine has blue markings . That harness work looks bloody good, might be a tad wider than it should be, but it looks good all the same Ans yes, those type of sprue attachments drive me mad also

I like what you did with the harness Bert, the office itself looks good too.

I'll be watching this. I've always wanted to add a Spitfire and Me-109 to my Israeli Air Force.

Thanks everyone, nice to see all those different Spitfire versions... Like I said, I decided to go for the silver version, because it reminds me of my very first Israeli plane back in the early 70's.. the ancient Airfix Mirage in the same livery.. As I don't have the etreme metal paints (yet?) I am using good old Tamiya Aluminium XF16, but to try and create some different shading I added a few drops of Tamiya smoke and sprayed some area's and panels.. yes, that was inspired by Guy's ME262.. This is really turning into a weekend project, a bit of a trial project as well.. seatbelts, alluminium with shades.. that is the nice thing about these small kits..

Love it and nice to see the Slipper Tank on the belly. The Spitfire needed its own sexy drop tank variant.😎

Ian, Paul, thanks! Masked and sprayed the nose job... And didn't want to use the tail rudder decal so masking and spraying it was... Went ok... 😅 on the other side however.... 😢 Redoing or touch up by brush... 🤔 And is the interior visible? Yes 😁 Question... do you need to add gloss for panelliner and decals on aluminium paint?

Looks great, Bert! For most aluminum/silver lacquer/Coroguard finishes, I will still do a gloss layer for decals and washes. Although some silver paints shoot very smooth, others can still be granular at the micro level which can still cause some silvering issues with the decals.

I used Vallejo Aluminium on mine, but still added a gloss covering afterwards. When I added the final matt coat I gave it a buffing with my glasses cleaning cloth, which brought it back up to semi-gloss

I protect the Vallejo metal colours with a coat of gloss clear from Tamiya thinned with lacquer thinner. You can re-mask a panel here and there and apply a coat of satin or even matt varnish, you'd be surprised how cool it looks. Great job so far Bert but I'd redo the right side of the rudder as the rest looks just lovely.
