Well work is just crazy at the moment, two nights away last week and the same this week and the day job doesn't stop..it just sits in your inbox waiting for me 
So there's not much going on, just prep work. The kit's frame has mounts for the 1/2 fairing in the CB900F2 kit.
They have to go.



As this is a tuned version I thought I'd use the kit supplied 4-1 pipe.

Today has been a bit wet here and I've caught a fecking cold from someone so took some slow time at the bench.

First modification was to remove the fin flick from the front mudguard, I want this to look different from the Honda standard in case I build a 900F2 or CB1100R
Then used a Revell rattle can silver for the bodywork, I'll leave this to cure for 48 hours before polishing with a microfibre cloth before decals and clear coat.



Next up fitted the engine to which I'd added a bit more detail to the carbs such as fuel drains and intake pipe clips. Used thin red wire as HT leads rather than the kit 1mm tube to get a more in-scale look.
Made ready for throttle cables and fuel pipe too.

Fitted it to the frame with the oil cooler before I paint some detail tomorrow.





Instrument bezels were finished by polishing the plastic only, no paint here. The idea is to be able see a difference in the semi-gloss blacks on the finished kit.
Added dial decals and now need to add some sort of glazing to these.



Lastly thought I'd play around with the standard exhaust. The kit has the 4-1 you've seen but I've always liked the brat style 4-2 shorty that some 90's streetfighters had back in the day before Hipsters highjacked the scene and made only café racers cool!
So out with the razor saw and a little bit of white stock.. not sure if this is a keeper yet though.
