Hello chaps, I've found an easy way to remove the (in)famous film on top of the new style Eduard decals.
I didn't plan to remove them at all on my Tempest V, on the contrary, they were already sealed with a coat of Tamiya gloss clear days ago. Today the yellow wing markings were airbrushed on and when I removed the masking tape the film of the wing roundels came off like nothing and without damaging the decal.
So there's abso-freaking-lutely NO NEED to aggressively attack the film with liquids risking your paint coats.

That's interesting, Guy. Even in spite of being cleared. What clear did you use?

Tamiya gloss clear thinned with lacquer thinner (yellow cap).

I tested with masking tape on the decal sheet itself and it came off without problems but I don't recommend doing this as these decals are extremely fragile with the film removed, even patiently sliding them off in one piece is almost impossible.

Next question, Did you use any type of decal solution? and if so was it before or after you pulled the liner?

Next question, Did you use any type of decal solution? and if so was it before or after you pulled the liner? I used Set & Sol Jeff. I airbrushed Tamiya gloss clear over them to protect them.
