Bring it on, Steve! We need to give these Panzer MOB guys a run for their money !
I'll help as I have several aircraft carriers under construction myself. Plus some additional ships so we'll have a proper navy here soon!
Sounds great Duke! Why would I be the only one suffering from these beasts !

Thanks all for the encouragement! Really needed since I am starting to remember why I needed a break from these ship monsters...
Anyhow, I finally managed to add some paint onto the hull: started priming it with my AB but even with the 0,6 mm needle it was frustratingly slow. So I took my Tamiya spray primer can (which I normally avoid because it is difficult to control accurately), but this time it went rather nicely. Need to give it another go with grit 2000 sanding sponge before the actual colour.
Added also some PE parts onto the aft & forward decks.
Started working with the "easy" big guns (good practise for those tiny AA guns) by adding PE details and replacing plastic barrels with metal ones.

Good to see you back Kari, the primed hull looks nice and smooth to me . And the gun turrets and Eduard little bits are a grand improvement indeed

Nice and smooth. I found that the rattle cans just have their own little skill to get them right. Short little bursts and constant movement to stop the paint pooling.

Fair play that you even tried to prime with the AB. I'd have reached for the rattle can without hesitation It's all the small, and expensive, details that slightly put me off these builds but you're making impressive progress with this one fella.

I am still a beginner with both AB and the rattle can, so I need to practise more to reach the level that I can approve ! 40 years ago, I painted everything with a brush, so it is a big change...

I get your point, Steve! These details can be rather tiresome (and also expensive). But as with planes and tanks, they really make the change and turn a toy into a realistic scale model !
