My Grandfather served throughout WWII in the Royal Army Medical Corps
He volunteered after the invasion of Poland as he thought his 1st. aid experience in the St.John's would be useful.
The Army put him in the RAMC as a Corporal and he was due to be sent to France but Dunkirk meant that he stayed in the UK in a training establishment.
In '44 , as a Staff Sergeant, he and his men were attached to a US combat unit and sent to Normandy on June 7th 1944.
He stayed with them into Germany before moving to a British unit in Norway in late '45.
I can't find a kit of the vehicles used with the US unit but I bet he had the occasional trip in the British 2-Ton like this Tamiya kit.
