Windows look top draw now fella, that was a great save! I’d go for the three tone camo then wish I’d gone for the desert sand yellow so..... How about mixing it up a bit? Yellow tractor and D9 with a camo trailer? I’ll get me coat

Man, I hope this works. There's a lot of work here. Windows masked up with BMF
Windshield in, doors put on and Cab masked.
I really don't know how this is going to turn out. It could make or break the build. Fingers crossed and wish me luck.
Off to the Basement to spray some paint.
TTFN.

I'm sure it will come out fine mate, never masked with BMF is it easier than tape?

Is BMF, aluminum baking foil? If yes how do you get it to stick in place? I'm sure the colour will go down nicely fella

Paul, that's pretty much what it is. It is a lot thinner than aluminum foil and will form around almost anything. Here's the package. Tells most of the stuff.
I'm going try and use it on the Trailer suspension I'll take pics so you can see how you use it.
Pete, It depends what you're doing, I guess. I would say it's a little harder but if it works the way it should the results should be good. I do know it doesn't leave a very thick paint line when you remove it.
Mence, I think you have that backwards, fella.
Boots, that's nice, thank you but I'm thinking this should work better. After all it's in your signature box.

Got some preshade and base coat on.

The masking idea worked out pretty well. The only problem was the foil left some adhesive on the windows. In my attempts to remove it I messed up some of the glazing and the paint edges. So any rough spots you see are my fault and not the method. Been doing some more experimenting and hope that I'll have better results on the D9.
Anyway. Some pics. Stuff still dryfitted.

Some bits and bobs still need to be put on but the basic Tractor build phase is finished.

Yeah, I should have waited and thought about it before trying to fix it. Haste makes waist. On a more positive note. I liked the AK paint. Thinned it with Mr.Color Leveling Thinner. Went through the AB just fine, went on really smooth and dried dead flat. Time to move on to the trailer.

I missed the time period for answering your paint question Jeffer but the desert paint fits the truck very well
