Okay to kick off the new Sci-Fi section, I’m going to be building a Land Speeder from Games Workshop, for the Warhammer 40,000 Blood Angels army... Similar to the bike I did recently, I intend to paint this with a bit of wear and tear... More to follow... lots more!

So you use the same figures/vehicles and paint them different colours?

Nice one Ade....this is about the only WH40K Imperial machine I didn't tackle.....but then the Sons of Fenris aren't generally wingyists!!

So you use the same figures/vehicles and paint them different colours? In most cases yes, but there are some specialist vehicles and squads that can only be used by a particular Chapter/Legion/Army. Each army has a Codex which explains all of this, but there are a lot of generic units.

Having parked the Staghound to let the primer cure, I thought I’d start this build. The kit design is pretty basic and he plastic is a bit on the chunky, soft side. The sprue gates aren’t always in the most thought out position and there are no part numbers, which makes for an interesting time understanding the instructions. These are also pretty basic and I must admit I’ve been caught out by them a few times, where I should have installed parts in a different order, resulting in having to disassemble to then reassemble in the right order. This all said, the parts are well detailed and fit together reasonably well. Construction took a few hours start to finish.... Basic frame... Base airframe assembled... The addition of the armaments and crew... Mock-up using Blu-tack to hold weapons in place. These and the crew will be removed and painted separately for ease. More to follow...

And there you go. I like the extra muzzle detail, BH.

Early start for me, as I want to get the primer on before I take the kids off for the normal Saturday morning Karate sessions. Hopefully I’ll get chance to put some base colour on this afternoon... This one gives a size comparison, hopefully...
