Can't wait to see your paint, if it's anywhere near as good as your lovely build we are in for a treat Its where everything usually goes pear shaped....... Maybe I should do what some of the competition and modelling experts do and farm it out to someone who can paint

Cheers Ade, will be into next week for colour, placed an order for some Vallejo model air to see what their range is like, the few I've used perform very well so I have high expectations. Doing some more online research the Maple leaf site has once again come to the rescue, an absolute beaut of a resource for those who enjoy and appreciate commonwealth vehicles. internal coloursIt also shows the correct colour for the motor........... seek and the shall find

So in-between being harassed by the family I managed to get the turret innards assembled, Bronco seem to have squeezed as many parts into the turret as the rest of the lower hull the Main cannon took most of Saturday morning! As you can see replaced the plastic barrel with an aluminium, and also the muzzle of the Besa mg, not sure about that, but should look ok under paint. I've opted for the silver/aluminium finish, should be interesting as never painted that much shiny in one go. Airbrush out and a shot of black to begin methinks

Thanks Paul, I don't think it's resin, seems to be a similar stuff they used to make the tracks out of. Tamiya ET didn't touch it so had to super glue it. Conforms to the curve well though eh?

Starting to fall out of friendship with Ammo paint, it seems so inconsistent in its application, what works for one colour is very different for the next so this ain't my best effort glad its just a base for the shiny. So waiting on the postman now to deliver me some paint!

Vlad I have also had issues with Mig, I got so annoyed I nearly binned the lot . Then I started using them straight from the bottle, I found they go on fine that way . They do need a darned good stir though, not just a 2 minute shake . If I'm after thin camo lines (e.g. German WWII), then I will add a few drops of blue tinted glass/window cleaner from Aldi. This works just fine . I also spray Mig paint at about 2 bar, with that I mean 2 bar going through the nozzle which means I have roughly 2.7bar showing on the pressure gauge. My AB of choice is a Fengda cheapo top loader with 0.3mm nozzle/needle. Looking a your picture I reckon you may have to go over again, that is the same appearance as I got with thinned Mig paint . The good side is you didn't use AK paints, they are even blurdy worse .

It seems a common complaint from many modellers regarding the Ammo brand, This was shot straight from the bottle, on an unprimed plastic, in fact that may be what the issue was as I wanted the black to be the base. Where I have used Halfords grey primer the problem doesn't seem to present....... I will remember that about the window cleaner, nice tip I use a Harder and Steenbeck Infinity at 1.5 bar or 22psi, seems to be a good operating pressure for the brush. I've heard similar reports of the AK equivalent, Ammo seemed to offer the range of colours I wanted thus the choice, although I was very impressed with Ade's AK real colour on his Stag, that was a lovely finish. I'm don't think I'm going to re apply over this as the metallic will obliterate the inconsistencies (hopefully), and I don't want the thickness of paint to interfere with fit.
