I'm surprised the T55 hull and suspension could carry this , I know how big the turret is, I been on it at Duxford . Lovely work there Pete, looking forward to that hard edged camo

That's one bad ass piece of hardware, and a great build.

That is really a crisp-looking build. I love how the vehicle looks too....very deadly appearance. Great work, indeed.

Ian

Thanks guys, well I've just had a little experiment with the Akan paint for the model. First off I tried mr color leveling thinner which turned the paint to clotted cream, AK thinner made it break up and go grainy as well. Finally plain old tap water was used and this has worked a treat. Thinned very nicely and sprayed on well. I've used a 50/50 mix but may reduce the water slightly to stop pooling. I've started with the dark green and this looks to be a very good match for the real colour. After only three or four light coats a nice solid colour is the result. One thing to note is that the Takom camo guide is not that accurate as they call out the wheels and lower hull in the lighter green when photos show the dark green in real life. Also some of the demarcation lines for the camo are missing so photo refs would help you get a more accurate pattern. I'll leave the parts I've sprayed overnight and check for durability of the paint tomorrow. So far so good!

Looks nice. For my Finnish BTR-60 I used Gunze colors. They looked good. But AKAH is far acurate.
