Good evening, After what seems to be an eternity I finally get to make a small update. Life etc seems to be getting in the way on a regular basis, so apologies to all. This is how things stand currently, The major thing to sort out are the front and rear "hatches" not sure if I should cut them out or just create the apperance of them in the closed position. Any thoughts would be welcomed, along with AC&C. Tim

Excellent work Tim, re the hatches I'd just have them closed . if you open them then you'll possibly have to sort an interior out which would be tricky I suspect

Nice indeed Tim . Are you gonna add the Brengun to the front hatch? If not then you might need consider what Pete and Boots have said .

Pete, Boots & Marco, Glad you like, and will leave the hatches closed. Just need to get a good representation of them. Paul, No bren gun being mounted. As I think I mentioned, this was more a "pillbox" on wheels. For reference purposes only.
The hatches I have made reference to are these.
I think you can see from these pictures, the holes are more like pistol ports.
With a little work I think I can replicate the apperance of the main hatches without to much trouble. More as and when and, as ever ACW. Tim

Small update time. Not so keen on the weld decals, especially given the price of them... But will have to put up with them and do the best I can. But the main thing is I am at least headed towards the end even if a little slowly. Tim

Nice Tim . What's the main problem with the weld decals?

Perhaps a bit of mr surfacer over the weld beads will blend them in better once you've added them all?

Nice Tim . What's the main problem with the weld decals? The carrier film seems to be very soft and as a result you get breakages which are a real PITA. As it is a raised pattern made up of resin printed on the carrier film (in order to give the effect once under primer) it makes for difficult positioning.

It will be cheaper than £17 for the iffy decals.

So I take it they are the "rub-on dry decs" then. Have you tried cutting them into shorter portions?

Paul,
No soak them off and slide into place, and then plenty of Micro Set.

Looks very good, but did you try use stretched sprue melted with plastic cement? (Evergreen is very good to because has exactly the same diameter).

Great scratchbuilding! I like the photo of the 1/1 scale version with the infantry too.
