Next up is this bad boy, and one quite close to my heart as my Grandfather was a member of the 33rd Armoured Brigade which was an independent tank unit under the 79th. He learnt to drive tanks in the Churchill and then transferred to Shermans and went into NWE on D+7 where he followed the northern route across. His Regt. was then transferred to Buffalo for the Rhine crossing. He didn't talk a lot about it just the barest details so I couldn't say anything about his particular vehicle etc. With that said I'm gonna do this one as an ambulance version, but looking at the instructions and Bison decal sheet there is a tempting array of vehicles to model, from those used by the Brits with Polsten cannon to those seeing service in the Pacific (not specific) at Okinawa, and a massive choice of colour schemes, some quite colourful So Base kit. With OMG I must be insane tracks, but so much better than the vinyl tracks. Decals And some meagre reference shots, the rear view of the frame for stretchers is useful, I can print it out with dimensions of the internal bay and get Dicky to scratch it So I'm off to stick plastic as the postie seems to have forgotten to deliver my paint

Robbo, wipe ya feet! Did you notice the reference btw?, included for your benefit Welcome aboard Paul, this one is light years ahead of the Italeri Amtraks as you would expect! And its probably the best transport version to model, as said earlier so many ways it can be portrayed, even stick a 105 field artillery piece on it, as the USMC actually did, also oddly more of this version were produced, the LVT-1 was used at Guadalcanal and the Solomons, the LVT-2 only saw service at Tarawa and the LVT-3 none until Korea. Doing a lot of research on the Pacific campaign at the moment for wargaming thus the geekery Cheers boots, You know being stuck at home all the time becomes wearisome and very boring and whilst I feel upto it I'm gonna bang through some kits Oh and this is post 100 for me

Missed this one and the offer of sub-contracting work!!! Always had a soft spot for the Buffalo since I was a nipper and built Airfix's 1/76 offering which was an all-time fave! Looking forward to this one

Thanks for the patience on this one chaps, with the Humber awaiting a coat or two of paint time to attack this one! Usual green styrene from AFV Club, doesnt want to photograph very well, muttered something about stealing souls...... work starts with the Sponsons or pontoons what ever you want to call em. Idler wheel with adjustment and return rollers are the main focus, I think most of the work is around the wheels etc Then the internal faces get introduced And look at the bowing on the bow fortunately its on the better side to pull it flat, this is after some persuasion!! Right off for lunch Hank Marvin!
