I know it's probably not up to the Tamiya version, but Ive snaffled one for next to nothing. Having experienced Hellers Mating snake tracks before, I was wondering does anyone have any idea if the Bronco tracks (3525) are worth a go for this?. I know they were designed for the Tamiya sprockets, but curious...

Box arrived and a quick sort through ID'd two things for the bin:the god-awful figures and equally awful tracks - replacements very definetly needed!

You're a braver man than me Paul, I'm sure you could adapt the kit sprockets to fit the bronco tracks assuming that the width is ok?

I built it back when Heller released it. It sat unpainted for about a decade. I put a so-so winter scheme on it...didn't even weather it... and put it aside. It's a good looking tank, and it's not even a bad build. The Heller kit is the initial production version, Tamiya's is a later version that can be used to depict a Peacekeeper version.
It's not bad...pretty typical of a Heller kit. The turret doesn't fit well in the turret ring. I left the external round stowage off....and the external fuel tanks. The figures had a neat look to them with their fullface helmets but...but yeah they are pretty crappy. The tracks are thick and a little soft on detail. The side skirts hide most of the tracks. Heller cast the cupola sections in clear styrene, which was pretty slick at that time. It's been a long time since I built mine so I'm probably forgetting problems.
Hope that helps.
