hello out there, here's an update on the plastic card monolith!!!!! still working on the suspension, and been cutting discs to make the wheels. there are 32 wheels, road wheels that is and each wheel has two discs with a spacer in between which are mounted on a tubular axle. the 'tyre' is tacked in place and when set it will be trimmed to the circumference of the wheel and fixed. there is a disc on both sides. of each wheel which forms the hub. these are no cut yet. still a long way to go but I'm still up for the 'fight' the pic on the left is waste from cutting the wheel discs and on the right is the track links, around 80 so far, the suspension 'rocker' mounts, two partially built wheels, spacers and a heap of discs. Been working my a** off on this build. Had to order more plastic card!!!.............and more Evergreen rod............and patience!!!!!!!! Still it is very enjoyable, just love it when you get that buzz and can't wait to get the next part finished or figure out how it's going to get made. The 3D printer has been working hard but it is really noisy, cooling fans running continuously, gets a little wearing. It has produced 150 of the said links, if my calculations are somewhere near correct I require another 120. maybe more, maybe less depends how accurate the STL file was that the printer is using. Here are two pics showing progress so far on the hull and turrets. The main turret is 98% done the smaller turret has the mantlet and gun to complete, then I will build the machine gun turret. After that one more of each of the smaller turrets and I will happily move on to the suspension and assemble the spring unit and wheel rockers. Thanks for popping by and taking a look. bill
