Made a start, I looked at a few build videos and seen that this kit can be a bit of a challenge if you don’t take your time and dry fit everything. So that’s what I’m doing I found this sticker on the box.. there’s £3 of the purchase cost right there! Cockpit and seats, from the box. A bit of clean up to do, there’s flash on every part. Started work on the fuse halves. The spine fits between them and it’s meant to go in after the two half’s are together but this can then be difficult to get to fit without a gap or step along the top of the fuse from the YT videos I watched. So I’ve glued it to one side already which I reckon will make it easier to get a smooth fit. I’m also using Aerocraft replacement resin air splitters as the Airfix ones don’t have the vents on the top and bottom. The resin is nice but not to Quickboost standards and not worth the cash if I’m honest. That’s it for now

Thanks for joining me fellas Progress is sloooowwww due to the amount of dry fittings needed but we’re moving. I’d normally paint and decal the cockpit before gluing it into the fuse but from reading WIP’s many people have struggled with the fit so I’ve added it now and buttoned it up as the tolerance is so tight the paint might throw it all out of line. It’ll be ‘fun’ to paint now but at least the nose is straight and closed up. Tape is protecting the fine tubes on the fin. A lot of work is going to be needed around the intakes, the fit here is very poor. In fairness I think this is due to the AM resin air splitter and not Airfix’s designers fault More when I can

Steve, did Airfix replicate the bigger intakes for the Speys fairly well?
