I wondered how long before the `Pete treatment` kicked in ........looks real purdy fella
LOL, didn't take long did it? Todays progress and I've been working on the antenna mounts and the roof hatch assembly as well as the exhaust. All the antenna mounts will eventually have a mix of plastic and brass tube ariels but I've used the kit mounts as they are not too bad. The kit .50 cal is not good so a rummage in the stash furnished me with a new one and associated mounting. The barrel is a bit off but some warm water should fix that. Finally the exhaust with etch was worked on and here I found that heating up the brass made it much easier to get the right curve in the pieces.
Cheers guys getting close to the finish now re the building of the kit with just a few tweaks done today. The biggest problem I have had with the whole kit was the etched jerry can stowage cage which sits on the rear of the vehicle. I heated up the etch prior to bending but it just would not go where it should. So out came the calipers and some plastic strip and off I went and made a better one from this. Fiddly but very satisfying. I'm now knocking up a frame for a .50 ammo box which will go on the roof mg mounting frame.
Beautiful work! The photo-etch details are look fantastic, especially the belts!

Thanks chaps, now finished the model after adding the cage on the back & making one up for the spare ammo can. As you can see I've replaced the .50 barrel cos I broke the bugger whilst trying to straighten it! Lucky I had a spare RB models brass one. Now I'll wash the model before primer.
The main colour is now on, I used humbrol 102 acrylic with a dash of tamiya white to fade it slightly. Also sprayed the seats and dashboard. Next will be the camo but I'll use a brush and some vallejo colours for the hard edged look.
