Another small session tonight. So started on the outer surfaces of the tracks and pretty much finished but still a few little effects to add. Next up the many, many wheels. So up adding some highlights to the raised areas, even if it will mostly be lost under weathering, followed up by silver on the worn areas and then a rub of graphite to dull it down. Edit: Just to add, the bits of grey to the left are my lazy approach of those bits won’t be seen.

Thanks Pete/Paul. The hub caps will tone down a bit when under weathering but I look the interest it gives even though it's not to everyone's taste or that realistic.

Faded wheel hubs work for me and those tracks look spiffingly good

So started weathering the lower hull (those bits that will be seen anyway) so I can finally put the running gear/tracks on and then the upper hull. Just some enamel dark earth wash, pigments, oil & grease, wet effects and finally some some clumps of plant root for added texture. I’ll leave it to fully dry before checking for areas that I need to touch up.

Thanks guys and one thing I will say is I thought the metal springs may have been a bit gimmicky but I actually really like the look of them once you ‘grease’ them up.

Just a small update. Added a few more splatters to the hull and then attached the wheels and tracks to make sure everything fits (it does thankfully) before actually glueing anything. The wheels well be weathered when I get to the main weathering. The reason I do that is to make sure I use the same mixtures on both. Been there, seen that, done that. The shame is a lot of the lower hull will now be covered up by the two piece side skirts.

Thanks Marco/Boots. Paul, I was actually looking for the E100 Waffentrager at a good price and found that the Amusing Hobby kits seem to keep their prices but then I found this (a kit I’d forgotten about) for £42 inc. P&P. Very worth it in my opinion and the only really negative I have is the lack of lenses for the headlights.
