Operation Musketeer, or the Suez Campaign. This was the British and French involvement on the Suez. The operation was first called Hamilcar, but this had a problem. The Brits painted and H on their vehicles, the french painted an A on theirs. This was down to the different ways of spelling Hamilcar. Brit= starts with H French= starts with A The codename was therefore changed from Hamilcar to Musketeer, but the vehicle markings were to be all with an H. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Musketeer_(1956)

Looking forward to this one and it reminds me I must get back to the FV183b when it's not so hot and Desporados III stops sucking on my spare time.

Mence,
If I may add a little something, Suez was "56" not "58".
When I was working on the Hawker Hunter, I realised that I could claim to be a "Suez" baby. Dad was ready\on board when the stand down came at the back end of October early November '56. I was born August '57 which by my dodgy calculations equates to 9 months after.

Hi Tim. You are indeed spot on which is why I am posting in the what if section, what if the British Army had built the FV217 and it had served in a what if environment of an extended Suez conflict. I like to play with hypothetical situations.

Hello chaps. Modest start, front and rear panels. As these parts are borrowed from AHs Conqueror kits, a small amount of surgery on the rear panel was necessary to remove the gun travel lock mounts.

Very nice, and the side skirt mounts look nice and straight too They have a fairly positive location point so they align quite well, one on each side (same part number) are a little out but that appears to me a moulding issue.
