So I tried this. Red brown as a base coat. Then I added a bit of basic skin tone and dry brushed it on. Then a bit more skin tone to the mix and dry brushed that and so on building up the flesh colour. Then I touched it up with a brush, did the hair and eyes and… What does the panel think? It is not as clean close up as I would have liked, but it will do for now.

Thanks Paul. Used red brown and this time I gradually added sunny skin tone to build up the highlights.

Much better with the softer shading on the chin.

I agree with the panel, Tommy! Nice job with working out those highlights and I think he looks excellent, so far.

Well, this GSW stand is stable, but a bit too heavy to hold in the hand. I think the original idea is to have it fixed in place by screwing the base to a table. Screws are included for that purpose. I might try and remove the clamp from the base so it is easier to hold in the hand and suit my way of painting.

For Robbo mostly, an SBS. But will it work on such cheap shoddy figures? Only time will tell. Anyway, first off after a good clean up to remove any seams, a rod up the bum and a stand to hold the figure in place. The stand is crucial! It really helps and is definitely worth the investment.

Thanks armorguy. Using these colours Using thinned paint: Paint everything black with the brown. Paint the highlights with the kislev and the rest with the cadian.

With 50/50 brown and cadian and 50/50 cadian and kislev Paint where the two colours meet as a first step in blending.

Then it is “just” a matter of going backwards and forwards with the colours, blending, highlighting and darkening until you are happy. With some red and a flesh tone do the lips and cheeks. Eyes with off white and an iris colour.
I will see in the morning after fully cured.
