Thanks Joe Ok......just an `ickle bit, some more rust tones added here and there and also some rust pin-washes, also the bonnet/hood and support strut which sits above the engine to the firewall..........i`ve purposely gone around the boot with the lighter rust so i havn`t over done it.....i only want the rust colours as a background once chipping starts so not all of this will be seen, by over covering i can chip at random and always be certain of bringing the rust thru whether it be centre of the vehicle or edges and in varying tones......the areas i want old paint to remain will be left
I probably won`t get onto the next stage until the weekend, the Blue areas are covered and i`ll just reverse the masking to chip/weather the Blue

Ta chaps

Now that's another high level of rustificationism my friend. I'm looking forward to the following moves you're about to make. Were small sponges involved ol chap?

Paul, John, Wout`s, Marco, Pete and Guybro........thanks you very much indeed chaps Guy.......yes some small sponges were unfortunately injured during this process, i expect the sponge casualty rate to rise even further at some point

Thank you Boots, it's all in the layers in this branche of modelling and sponges combined with other methods do come in handy. I've been adding sponges yesterday to rustificate the back and underside of the M47.

Great job with the rustification Boots B) I’ve only ever done the odd bit of rust so watching intently and taking notes

This is so bizar, we all have our own styles in replicating rust effects and nevertheless all the results look pretty hyper real.

All to kind fellas and i really appreciate the great comments.......it also lets me know i`m moving in the right direction
Ok some more...
I have concentrated on weathering in the sides of the vehicle, this was done with a wash of Vallejo Smoke thinned with water, the rust itself is just plain `ol simple sponge work, i didn`t use any chipping fluid here as i was happy with what i had and just wanted to tone the bulk colour, the top sections of boot/roof/wings(fenders) did get some chipping fluid and playsand and a light coat of the base coat over that........i then just worked it back, to be honest i did like what i first had and was reluctant to go over it but i`m glad i did......i then introduced some blue on the blue wing and door so they arn`t quite so dark as before .........gotta say the smoke worked well over the blue as a wash

The next step will be to match the inner wheel wells and fire-wall........the body work i`m pretty happy with as is but i might still tinker yet , i also have chrome to add.......and there was lots of it around the screen and suchlike ...........i`m gonna add some and miss others.....i`ll burnish the chrome with washes as well.
Cheers fellas

It's really looking awesome Boots, reminds me of the finishes of Andrew Argent and all those boys who did the rusty cars.
The effects are very much layered and getting better and better. I can say honestly 'WOW'

MJ, didn't he use his own name now? John Simmons, right? If I'm correct he's doing a lot of Sci Fi stuff now, Star Wars and all. Very cool. Andy A is talented but had a bit of a quarrel with the lad so not a big fan of him anymore
