That Marder is looking good, and always nice to see figures coming along.

Cheers Paul, & wouter.I've given the two figures a base coat of the main colours. I'll give it a day or so to dry, then I'll have a go at face and try shading the uniform.

Looking very good already Joe . I'm sure you'll get some tips for the fading from our resident figure meisters

Good start! You're painting with acrylics, I'm an oil and enamel figure painter. I have some acrylics from Andrea which were never used so maybe this can be helpful. Have fun fella.

Thank you Paul, Pete, Guy, Ian, Tommy, Marco and Robbo. Much appreciated chaps.Sorry for the long gap in posting. A busy few days and a bit of drama. All back to normal now. As for modelling, I've screwed up the camouflage a couple of times and had a quick respray. Third time lucky hopefully. Not made any progress on the figures. Guy, I think you with your oils will be far superior to anything I can do. Thanks again chaps.

Back to basics. What I mean by that is, I've basically had three failed attempts at the camouflage pattern! So I'm going to give it one more try, and if I'm still not happy I shall leave in just the one colour. I've added all the other bits and pieces, so the construction is finished. Whatever the outcome with the paint, I'll give it a coat of varnish and weather it lightly. Then, I'll try my hand at the figures.

Keep trying Joe, it will pay off I am sure . Have you thought about not using the airbrush ? You could sponge the camo on to the model, just make sure the sponge is almost dry and of course that you have the right width. It does work quite well, I did this with the red-brown on my Befehlspanther 653 Panzerjägerabt. Or if that worries you, you could add the camo per oil paint. I did this on the Panzer III I built here: mho.freeforums.net/thread/857/sdkfz-141-ausf-say?page=3

I had a go this afternoon, I made a stencil with a few holes in it. I just done one side at first, it looked s***e. So I had another go freehand. Needless to say, it's all over yellow again now! It's had more resprays than one of Arthur Daley's dodgy motors! I'll give it a day or to dry, then I'll have a go at what you suggested.

Have a go on the underside of the hull first, this is an area where you can play with to find the right amount of paint and turps spreading/scrubbing needed until you're happy

Joe, the figures and vehicle look great. Keep trying on the camo. You will find something that works for you, no doubt.
