That's cool, Tony. I wouldn't want to steer it though.

They were designed for aircraft tug duty Paul and at the time the only prime mover small enough and light enough to be loaded on a transport plane therefore they were also used to tow small arty and supplies for troop support. Here's another reason you don't see too many built, indy moveable link tracks. Two links with a pad that hold them together. Don't sweat the small stuff once again. Tony lee

Take one, Buddy. Those look awesome. About the steering thing. I'd think it would be hard to turn with the big contact patches of the tracks. But after some research came up with this. From Wiki. Steering the Kettenkrad was accomplished by turning the handlebars: Up to a certain point, only the front wheel would steer the vehicle. A motion of the handlebars beyond that point would engage the track brakes to help make turns sharper. It was also possible to run the vehicle without the front wheel installed and this was recommended in extreme off-road conditions where speed would be kept low. So my concern is taken care of.

That's the ticket man, seek and ye shall receive. In Saving Pvt Ryan the stuntman almost turned one over because he didn't know about the steering. After that the owner of the props only let his people drive his property. Tony lee
