What a great choice John and some lovely ref pics .......i have the same issue with the 1/35th Hind, there`s no way i can display it full rotor........so i`m thinking de-commissioned with rotors orfe Terrific start on the framework......very tidy indeed

The poor pilot of that second reference picture, never even got a shot off before coming down. You can see the gun covers are still place and very intact too

Some cockpit parts primed and painted in aluminium. Some of these parts will be painted over, but this gives me a base for chipping and weathering

The aircraft in the second photo, R8943 was with RAE & De Havilland conducting propellor trials when it crash landed in the UK. It was subsequently repaird by Marsall of Cambridge and issued back into service with 175 Sqn in February 1945.
From what I have read, it has a 4 blade prop and early canopy not used on service examples. I have to say that the canopy certainly looks more 109 than Typhoon. Might also explain why the guns are unused.

Fantastic idea! I’ll follow with great interest if I may I built a crashed 1/24 FW190 many moons ago, it was a fun project. I displayed it at home until my daughter dropped it while dusting.. oh well...
