Just a small update on the Ki-100. I found out the control surfaces underneath are painted with that Grey/Green color used on Japanese aircraft earlier in the war. I used Sky Type S which I lightened with some white and grey. I also have to redo the upper control surfaces on the plane. I thought the surfaces were metal but they are actually fabric so I have to paint over and refinish the chipped metal areas.

Well, I was sailing along on the Ki-100 and then got cursed by the 99% Rule twice. I noticed a small divot on the underside of the aircraft so I did my usual of trying to fill it with Tamiya putty. However, when I filled the bad spot more plastic collapsed around it. I tried CA glue (no accelerant because Hasegawa plastic will splinter) and the same thing; sink hole collapsed as did more plastic around it. So there was obviously an issue with the plastic in this area as the rest of the seams and marks on the plane I was able to fill. I then drilled out the spot and put a sheet stock plug in the cavity and then sealed the edges with epoxy. That worked, finally. I then got to the decals and the 99% rule smashed me again. Even with a clear coat airbrushed on to the decals, they splintered and are useless. However, Victory Models saved the day as they had a couple of Life-Like decal sheets left in stock for Ki-100s and a new sheet is on the way via Amazon. On a plus note, I got the fabric control surfaces refinished after painting over the areas I had done in metal. I used Mission Models FS34088 OD so it would look much lighter to depict the olive paint over doped fabric. Stay tuned and hopefully I can save this with a new decal sheet.
