Bar armour looks like a far better bet than messing around with PE in my opinion buddy

Bit of an update, completed one track and attendant wheelage. Instructions call for 79 links per side. Looks a little droopy to me.
Took it back to 78 and much better I think.
On to the next track and hopefully get a large percentage of the lower hull finished and ready for primer. Replacement Wyvern is inbound and, if it arrives for the weekend, may well jump back to that as it's closer to a finish. The Tornado was suggested as arriving tomorrow but has now changed to Friday 26th. No drama as I have been told to finish these before starting that one. Part of the terms I believe...... Tim

Tim the Challenger II has the same Hydro-pneumatic suspension as the Chally I. Looking at the kits height, I'd say they have modeled this on a hot suspension, one that has heated up and brought the vehicle to its full height. So you're tight track is absolutely correct . If you had dropped the height by about 2mm, it would give you a cold suspension, this needs a sagged top run .

Tim, nice work on the tracks. I would say 78 was the magic number.

Both tracks now done and about 99% finished on the lower hull. RFM are not affraid of small parts on this one. Those grab handles are going to be fun. As for part 11, if you look carefully in the next picture on the left hand side just below and to the right of the top nut you can just see it. There is a matching one on the rightside as well.
Next up the upper hull & turret. Tim

Tons to do then? I can see the grab handle. Lots of work for something that is probably going to be covered in mud. But, then that is what we do.

The best part is when the little parts split of the tweezers But looks perfect when in place. Great work!

Small problem on the paint front. Shout out is for Nato Green. I have a Tamiya XF67, however to be on the safe side decided to order some more. New one has arrived and as you can see,
Different shade. Old is on the left and new on the right. Which one is correct. From what I can deduce I think I should go with the new (right) but sage advice sought. I do seem to recall that some Tamiya colours have changed but not sure what the general concensus was as to right or wrong \ better. Tim

Tim I would not use NATO green for a Brit vehicle instead I find XF65 field grey a much better colour for the green we use. It's not grey though but a nice dull green. NATO green is far too green if you get my meaning for Brit gear.

With the Wyvern finished and the "Tonka" screaming at me from the shelf, it's time to move this one towards a finish. A few photo's to show how things stand.
Really enjoying this so far and just hope it remains that way. Tim
