Wonder if anyone can help, I'm looking at doing a BRDM 2 turret, as though its been blown off the vehicle, so the interior of the turret would be visible. Have loads of reference material ready... however I'm a little stuck now. I know there's a large ring, that is toothed so the turret can rotate. Would this toothed ring be on the turret or the hull? I'm suspecting it would be on the hull, can anyone advise? Thanks very much

I am wondering if the teeth are actually on the turret ring and the gear itself is on the hull. Great subject matter, too!

Paul you don't do half things or half questioning either do you . I found this on Youtube, to me it looks like the ring is fitted to the turret.

Thanks Paul That's a good video, they certainly work quickly :-) Looking at the bolt patterns on the video, there maybe a separate ring plate, bolted to the hull for the turret to sit on?? Found this late yesterday also

That is what I thought also, the ring on the turret but bolted to the hull. Nice diagram, this will look good when done Paul. Possibly a good AM item for the main kits out there

Thanks mate, My thoughts on this one, are a turret that has been blown from the tank, and just laid on he ground/rubble etc at least it will give the impression of a battle :-) Re the toothed ring theory, that may be the deformed strips in the attached (sorry they are not very good)
