A the title fellas, detail painting my Tilly has shown I need some new brushes. I mostly use acrylics so which hairy stick maker do I go for? Happy to pay for quality within reason so not £8 a go

The ProArte range are very reasonable Steve.......i have those and some W&N No 7`s, i don`t think my 000 and 00`s, 0`s and No 1`s exceed the £8.......most certainly not in the ProArte ones

W&N series 7 are superb, but £8 a go is about what they cost. I got a small box/gift set for Xmas a couple of years ago from ‘mrs Beano’. But I know they weren’t cheap. The cheaper brushes are all a bit ‘suck it and see’ in my experience. Sorry can’t be more helpful 😏

W&N are great have a few myself and I also find broken toad brushes to be really good for acrylics as well.

Tamiya modeling brush pro II. Don’t know how much they cost though.
Cheaper alternative is GAIA, which are made in Sri Lanka.

Very late reply on this; these were recommended to me from a very good figure painter (28mm), so should be good. I have no experience of them myself, but do plan to buy some. www.rosemaryandco.com/brush-sets
