What is this Tamiya smoke I keep hearing about? Nice build btw. Looking lovely Thank you, Robbo! So, it's Tamiya Smoke X-19. It's basically a clear coat, tinted black, that you can shoot through the airbrush to tint panel lines, recesses etc. You can also add other tints to it for exhaust stains, gun residue, fluid leaks and so on. It's very faint out of the bottle and you can use it for subtle shading or really darken things up with repeated passes with the AB.

Nicely done Ian H. Ian R. This stuff is most excellent as a post shade. It's far easier to add after the main paint has gone down, than trying to keep certain areas of darker pre-shade showing through

Thanks, Paul! I painted the jerry cans for the tank, of which there are many. I decided to do a variety of colors and used black, green and tan. I decided to scratch up the tan and added chipping fluid over the black undercoat and scratched those up with a toothpick. Stowage will be next.

Smoke? Only used it once and impressed with the results. X-19 is the number, Robbo.
