This looks great, Mence! Is this one based on the Merkava or Centurion chassis?

This looks great, Mence! Is this one based on the Merkava or Centurion chassis? It's a late one so I'm guessing Merkava 3 or 4

Chaps. Was going to be an update but I've hit a small issue. I've primed the tracks with plastic primer and painted over with tamiya acrylics. Look fine but when I tried a practice fit, the paint and primer starts to flake off. Any ideas? dont want to buy indy links if I can help it.

That is bloody annoying indeed, these new rubber tracks can be tricky. Have you got any old school primer, something solvent based? If yes decant a little into a jar or similar, then paint a small piece of track segment, with a brush and see what happens. This is of course risky, but if you only cover a couple of links you'll be safe. If that stuff sticks and doesn't melt the track, then go over the whole run and paint with any acrylics.

Not come across this before. Is it them bandy tracks like in the Dragon kits, the light coloured ones

I agree with Paul. Usually a solvent based primer will grab on to the tracks and adhere pretty well.

Nice looking build you got here,Mence. Paul is right, solvent based is the way to go. Keeping the paint film as thin as possible helps also. As does putting the tracks in place as soon after painting as you can. If the truth be told, I don't use primer on bandies , but, I am using lacquer thinner to thin my tammy acrylics.

Thanks for your help guys, I will leave as is and try to paint round the problem when installed. Stuck some stuff today, the left and right Trophy APS modules. I need to add to the above some teeny clear parts and their surrounds which I will fully paint before installation and mask the whole thing rather than just the clear parts, gotta be easier that way. Onwards.
