I finally found this and read through the whole thing. This is very impressive so far. Like you, I am also hoping to get a 1/72 scale one of these. I do have a 1/72 scale Nimrod in the stash; I just have to get a few other projects off the bench first.
I will continue to watch this one.

I recently acquired a Nimrod too and also an A400 in 1/72. So many projects to do... As far as my modelling is concerned, I have been compared to a Labrador in the woods chasing squirrels.

Excellent! I have an A-400 under construction now. It is a really fiddly build, the fuselage plastic seems so thin. The landing gear; despite seeming to be rugged, are constantly breaking. I have mine already assembled mostly, I just have to fix the wings to the fuselage which has a number of issues all on it's own. If you want to see how mine is coming along; go back a few pages on my Maddog Manufacturing Thread and you'll see what I'm dealing with. Just be sure to add enough nose weight; I thought I had, but not quite. my attempts to rectify that had unexpected consequences...
Well, you'll see...

Very nicely sprayed,Andy. If I may ask, what did you use for paint? Thanks Jeff. Controversially, This one will be almost totally Halfords finest rattle cans!!! Ventral surfaces are Gloss Appliance White and the upper surfaces will be Ford Polar Grey and Vauxhall Leaf Green. It's not the first time I've used them, I tried them on the three Vulcans I did last year and they gave a finish that was a very good representations of the camouflage colours of that era, especially for small scale aircraft with a glossy finish and little weathering. Thanks I will take a look. I'm planning to do it for colleagues in the A-400 team for their office and I do have the mad idea to do it in flight and motorised in similar manner to the Defiant and based like the Star Destroyers. However I've got a list of commission work to get through first. Andy
