What ratio did you use for paint to thinner as the last, and only, time I tried the dust layer I just ended up with a pooling liquid?

So for the dust coat, it was really more tinted Matte Varnish than anything else. I am horrible with ratios but I would estimate for the paint cup:
50 percent Vallejo Matte Varnish 10 percent Sand 10 percent Tan 10 percent Winter White 20 percent distilled water

Yep.....basically a filter coat/matte coat/sealer coat but all at one time.
