Si, Boots, Paul and Robbo, thanks for the heads up chaps. And speaking of the rallycar: rest assured, unlike most online car builds, this won't be a pretty pristine shiny lady. I hope to be able to depict it after either a sprint or an endurance race. So some kind of grime will be there

So, finally we are here again The paintwork and the overspray in places gave me a bit of a demotivation so I stepped back from it. Think I didn't do much modelling last couple of months, but to start again I thought to finish the interior first before tackling the paint issues. So finally I managed to paint all the interior details, add some decals here and there and even scratchbuild a tiny part: a timing device which can be found in a lot of the GT3 cockpits, the so called 'Racelogic'. Some aftermarket stuff was used as well. Tamiya provides decals for the seatbelts but frankly, that was never going to do it for me, so am stuff it is. Seatbelts by Scale Production. The decals on the seatbelts gave me a bit of a headache because they didn't stick well onto the fabric, even after Mr. Mark Softer application, but some clear was sprayed on top and this helped adhering it. After that pretty much putting it all together really. And so, here's the cockpit. Cheers

Glad you like the office chaps, thanks for that. Just a small update, but an update is an update I reckon I tackled the cars' exhausts. I enhanced them by glueing the silvery paper which you can find in cigarette packs onto the exhausts. Gives an nice bit of extra texture. After that a coat of black primer and Tamiya Semi Gloss Black And finally the all great Alclad Chrome paint. Nice result. I think you can get the chrome paint even to be shinier if the black coat is high gloss. Still, quite happy with how it looks. And not much of it will be seen when in place

Great result. Was it brush or AB painted? Thanks Tommy, with the airbrush. Very thin passes of the Chrome paint do the trick

wowee, couple of months later: thanks chaps Now that the Zero's varnish layers is drying and the knights have been painted it's time to pop this one out again. I still haven't adressed the paint issues, but in the meantime I thought I'd start with decalling areas where the paint is ok. The decals sheet from this am company are not cheap, like AT ALL (30€'s for a decal sheet for this car) and for that price you don't even get pre-cut decals . So I had to cut them out as closely as possible against the edges of the decals. Second: you can't leave the decals for too long in the hot or even lukewarm water. If you leave it in longer than - say - 10 seconds, the decal loosens from the carrier paper and curls up towards the inside...I learned this the hard way and lot's of swearing was involved to do some damage control. The only positive here is that the decals are sturdy and can take a beating without tearing apart. The decals aren't 100% as in reality either: the Hello Kitty logo on the bonnet is actually a tad too large, and the font isn't the one used on the actual car. So a lot of negatives for an expensive set. There are also some air bubbles here and there which I still need to resolve. Oh my, modelling can be fun he

€30 for a decal sheet, wow . I bet the different font has something to do with the copy right stuff. Which I personally can't understand as it is an in scale replica, and not a 1/1 copy. But it does look darned good and you certainly have done a good job with them

Thing is they have liveries which the other companies don't. But still, next Merc I'll find another AM company or look for someone who can decently print custom decal sheets And thanks, you're way too kind
