I do like the Tiger but don`t really have the need for the interior, i built Italeri`s one of these years ago. I dont think this ever made service due to constant suspension issues.........i think it was designed in 42 and stopped in 42 so why the box art portrays it in some sort of action scene with camo is a bit strange............i thought being as these were only a prototype they were simply grey during testing/trials

Totally agree on that aspect Jase but at least portray it correct.........it never had a camo scheme and only went up and down hills during testing...........but i suppose it wouldn`t be eye-catching enough to sell.

This is why I said "safe, I think" . I have one in the stash from Italeri, but that is certainly not going to keep up with this one. Now for the best part, yes it did make it to battle. It was part of the Schwerepanzerjägerabteilung 653. They also had the Panther with the Panzer IV turret. Both were used in the HQ unit, and yes both were camouflaged. So if this isn't too stupidly priced, I might go for it. And maybe two flatcars also, then I can place the Panther with the Tiger together

Boots back when they wrote about this vehicle, there probably wasn't any confirmed info out there. Google this Schwere Panzerjäger-Abteilung 653 you'll find quite a few pictures of 003 and the Panzer IV turreted Panther

Paul is right, the Porsche Tiger did see combat. Despite it having been in a headquarters unit, one of these is credited with three T-34 kills.

And I did that Italeri kit too many moons ago..
I think Dragon had one too, with Magic tracks PE too. Rare kit.
